Beginners Sewing Classes

Looking to try your hand at sewing or get back into it after a long break? Dust off that sewing machine (if you have one it lives in the attic right?! Poor thing!) and come along to one of our classes!

Upcoming Chorley Classes

Suitable for absolute-never-seen-a-sewing-machine-before-beginners and returning sew-ers  alike our Beginners Sewing Course is the perfect way to get crafty! We focus on building confidence, teaching you useful, transferable skills all in a super friendly and sociable environment. Time to FORGET that terrifying Home Economics Class from back in the day- we are the opposite! You’ll learn all about threading the machine then make lots of little projects such as a tote bag, bunting, zipped and lined make up bag, a piped cushion AND there is time at the end for you to start your own project with our help.

No need to bring or even own a sewing machine as we have everything you need in the studio!

Our courses are held in our bright & creative sewing studios in Glasgow, Dundee, Birmingham and Chorley and OBVIOUSLY include free tea/coffee/biscuits.

We have several different types of the same course these are:

  • 2 Day Class – Held at the weekend over 2 consecutive Saturdays or Sundays 10am – 5pm
  • 3 Day Time Classes – This is held during the week, during the day. Designed for those who work at weekends or want to work the class around their kids being at school. Runs over 3 weeks, 1 day per week from 10am – 2pm
  • Evening Class – Runs over 6 evenings, once per week from 6.30- 9pm

Top 3 Beginner’s Sewing Class FAQs

Honestly we hear this all the time, this course assumes you have zero knowledge at all! In the Maxi Sewing class we even teach you how to sew a button on!

If you dont own a sewing machine you can still get involved! Once you have booked we send you out favourite machines for beginners to suit different budgets and we include some discount for you too. We don’t rent out sewing machines I’m afraid and the project aren’t suited to hand sewing so you need to be prepared to either borrow a machine from someone or buy one. Chances are you will love this hobby and want to sew forever anyway so it’s a worth investment!

Yes you can! We have live dates there for some social interaction with other people as well as live help from the tutor but these are recorded and can be watched back so please don’t worry if you can’t make the live sessions. You can still get involved!
