Top 3 Patchwork & Quilting Class FAQs
Q - I've always wanted to try out quilting but have only basic sewing skills - will I be ok?
A - As long as you have a little experience and an understanding of how the sewing machine works and can sew some straight lines then you will be fine! Quilting is really not as scary as some people think. If you haven't used a sewing machine before we would recommend you come along to our beginners class or for a private lesson first.
Q - Can I make my quilt out of old clothing or baby clothes?
A - We will be using cotton fabric to make our quilts so stretch fabrics will not work I'm afraid. If you have old cotton shirts and everything is the same fabric type then it could work - message us first to check. If mixing fabrics or wanting to use t shirts or baby clothes I'd recommend you come to our memory blanket class.
Q - If I want to make my quilt larger than the one suggested in class can I?
A - You can make your quilt larger if you like but bear in mind you will need to bring extra fabric and wadding and you may need to do a bit of homework between classes to ensure you finish on time.
