Top 3 Sewing Pattern Class FAQs
Q - I have never done any dressmaking before, is this class going to be suitable for me?
A - In short yes! Patterns can be baffling and intimidating to the beginner. This class will take you through all the stages of dressmaking from understanding your pattern, to making a toile (mock up) and then working on your finished product and making fit adjustments along the way!
Q - What kind of patterns can i bring along to the class?
A - It really is up to you! We have had dresses, pyjamas, teddy bears, handbags, to name a few - if it has a pattern and you want to make it then bring it along! If you have a little dressmaking experience and want to try out something a bit more challenging then bring it along and we can get stuck in!
Q - Do I need to have my pattern and fabric cut before coming along to the class?
A - Not at all. Your tutor will talk you through your pattern and some of the jargon and terminology used so you will have a full understanding of it. Help will also be given to get your correct measurements (if dressmaking), this way you can ensure you will be cutting the correct size from your fabric and placing your pattern on the fabric correctly.
