You don’t need any prior experience of sewing to get involved in our hand embroidery class. Even if you THINK you don’t have a creative bone in your body I bet you will shock yourself.
Hand embroidery, and other sewing skills can be used as a mindfulness tool in our hectic lives. If you struggle to switch your brain off after work, or think you waste too much time mindlessly scrolling through Instagram you must try hand embroidery as tool to ween yourself off technology!
This 2.5 hour class includes everything you need to get started so you don’t have to bring anything with you! We’ll teach you lots of basic stitches that can be used to ‘colour in’ and decorate your Sew Confident printed textile which you can pick at the start of the class. This will make you feel so zen. The most stressful thing about this class is realising you’ve gone your whole life without trying hand embroidery! Granny would be proud!

Q. I like more than 1 design, can I get another kit at class?
A. Yes you can! We’ve got extra kits available to buy in the studio, and you can also buy them online at a later date!
Q. Do I have to bring anything with me?
A. No you just need to bring yourself! we provide everything you need, however if you do have any embroidery floss you’d like to bring with you, you absolutely can!
Q. I have never done anything remotely creative, will I be able to do this class?
A. Yes, absolutely! We’re not expecting anyone to turn up at this class and already know how to embroider(but if you can, that’s fine too!) and you can take the class absolutely at your own pace. We will show you quite a few stitches but if you’d rather just focus on using 2 that’s absolutely fine.
